Import products and inventory

Part A: Overall procedure


  1. Customer requests import to CS manager
  2. CS manager prepares and sends import template to customer
    • See below Part B: How to prepare the template
  3. If any questions, CS manager answers them either directly
    • If they are too complicated, after consultation with 2nd / 3rd Level Support
  4. CS manager receives the data (and saves in right Drive folder)
  5. CS manager books 2nd Level Support for importing
    • Create a 2nd Level Support task
    • Find a resource and book the time for executing the import
  6. 2nd Level Support performs the import and informs CS manager
    • If any complication in step 3, advanced instructions from 3rd Level are followed
  7. CS manager does testing on the imported data, and approves the import as complete
    • Check each column for at least 3 random products
    • Check also if the number of products and inventory items are the same as in the import file
  8. CS manager informs the customer that the import is complete

Part B: How to prepare the import template

Make a copy of the template below, save it to the right customer folder and rename it.

  • Generic template: Use this document
  • Sports template: Use this document

Remember to look through it, and prepare it (by following the steps below) before sending it to the customer.

Preparation: Please delete sheets that are not relevant before sending to the merchant:

    1. Intro sheet
    2. Products sheets: Choose the right template: one language vs two languages
    3. Products sheets: Consider if you should delete the Packages section
    4. Consider to keep or delete: Inventory template
    5. Consider to keep or delete: Categories template
